Its warm-water jet, air and fine powder remove biofilm, plaque and surface stains with an approach that is generally gentler and more comfortable than conventional polishing. How to treat bad breath (halitosis)?
Bad breath is often linked to bacterial deposits under the gums and on the tongue. Professional cleaning can reduce these deposits, while GBT AIRFLOW® removes biofilm and surface stains. Persistent bad breath may have other oral or medical causes that require assessment.
How to remove tartar from teeth?
Tartar is mineralized dental plaque and cannot be removed at home with a toothbrush. AIRFLOW® removes biofilm and surface stains; ultrasonic scaling removes mineralized tartar. The clinician combines these methods according to what is present and recommends a personalized recall interval.
Is GBT Airflow cleaning painful?
When it is indicated for children/teens, and in the 183.15 CHF dental hygienist session, GBT Airflow cleaning is generally gentle and comfortable, and warm water can improve comfort. If ultrasonic scaling is needed to remove mineralized tartar, sensations may vary according to tooth sensitivity and gum condition.
Gingivitis and periodontitis: what treatment?
Gingivitis (inflamed gums) is reversible with professional scaling and good oral hygiene. Untreated, it can progress to periodontitis, a serious gum disease causing tooth loss. Our dental hygienist performs deep scaling and root planing to treat periodontal pockets and stop disease progression.
